COLD FIRE products and COLD FIRE Super Systems are the ultimate weapons against fire. The onboard super systems can be used in numerous applications including, Forestry, Marine, RV, Police, Fire, EMS, Motorsports, home and industries.
COLD FIRE gets it's name from it's extraordinary ability to remove extreme heat from any object with which it comes in contact. COLD FIRE works to remove heat and the hydrocarbon fuel source from the fire triangle. The suppressants in COLD FIRE uses water as a catalyst to remove the heat as well as encapsulate and breakdown the hydrocarbons in the fuel source to extinguish the fire more rapidly.
CT Model: Direct Actuation
This is a pre World War II invention although some imply it was invented in the 1970?s. Simple in concept, it proved extremely difficult to construct due to the permeability of the only plastics available in the 1940?s. An Engineer that was familiar with the melt tube design since 1964 was able with modern designer plastics, to create the critical design detail and manufacturing methods to overcome the problems experienced by earlier manufacturers.
Cold Fire Super Systems CT model design is registered internationally and consist of standard cylinders permanently attached to specially engineered proprietary modified nylon (PMN) Detection tubing and capped on the other end. Heat touching any point on the tube causes it to rupture precisely at that point releasing the ColdFireŽ of both cylinder and tube directly towards the heat source. In this way, the Detection tube acts as an infinite array of combined detectors and nozzles. Unlike systems with electronic detectors, the suppressant is discharged accurately towards the heat source. There is no need for overkill in terms of cylinder capacity as Cold Fire Super Systems CT Model are able to suppress the fire at the point of outbreak, before it has had a chance to spread.
Cold Fire Super Systems CT Model has no moving parts, and does not rely on any electrical input, wires, detectors, solenoids, batteries, switches or circuitry. This equipment costs only a fraction of electrically triggered hard plumbed systems, yet is more reliable, reacts quicker, and with more accuracy.
Cold Fire Super Systems CT Model, can be used for; on and off-road vehicles, marine craft, machinery, heavy equipment, chemical cabinets, locomotives, aerospace, mines, and tunnels. The list is unlimited.
Cold Fire Super Systems have developed a range of optional equipment for use with the CT Model. This includes full length Spring Guard for use in rough environments, remote pressure gauge to monitor system pressure, and pressure switch which can be used for alarm indication, engine or plant shut down.
Cold Fire Super Systems CT Model uses ColdFireŽ exclusively and are available in
Allows for multi nozzle system where multiple outbreaks can occur simultaneously, or in conditions of high turbulence, (such as outside, or in the engine compartment of a large vehicle with a large cooling fan), where the direction of the fire on the Detection tube can be distorted, the more advanced Cold Fire Super Systems CTX Model was designed for the application.
CTX Model was made possible with the introduction of the patented automatic pressure differential valve. With its unique capability these valves allow a large and powerful discharge of ColdFireŽ through discharge tubes. These systems combine the highly effective, totally non-electrical simplicity of the Cold Fire Super Systems CT Model, with those advantages previously claimed for multi nozzle automatic fire fighting systems.
CTX Model made use of the same Detection tubing to act as both detector and accurate discharge unit. However in CTX Model, the instant drop in pressure within the Detection tubing during activation, is used to trigger a separate and simultaneous discharge of ColdFireŽ via the valve through the discharge tubing and pre-positioned nozzles. The protection provided is two fold, it ensures that nozzles can be positioned to protect important items regardless of turbulence and the Detection tube will discharge at the point of the fire. Although the action of the Detection tube discharge itself may suppress the fire, the activation of the valve gives the assurance the system will protect the major investment.
An example of the Cold Fire Super System CTX Model would be to protect a large and complex vehicle with a manned compartment (cab), and a large unmanned engine compartment. The cylinder(s) are mounted where ever practical. The Detection tube(s) are routed within both the manned and unmanned compartments, while the discharge tube and nozzles are placed only within the engine compartment. The fire can be sensed at any point along the Detection tube route, whether in the manned or unmanned areas or could be manually activated by the optional manual discharge valve. In this example, the Detection tube would be set to deliver ColdFireŽ which is not harmful to the operator, should the fire have initiated and ruptured the Detection tube within the cab. Regardless of the point of initiation, the slave function of the CTX valve, ensures that the valuable engine compartment is simultaneously and independently protected by the ColdFireŽ. The CTX valve gives the user the option to protect equipment regardless of turbulence, by positioning of delivery nozzles. The CTX valve uses the ColdFireŽ at the same pressure in both the Detection tube and the cylinder. The discharge will be a combination of Detection tube and nozzles.
The CTX Model is the best unit to protect engine compartments in large machines with large cooling fans.
Cold Fire Super Systems have developed a range of optional equipment for use with the CTX Model. This includes full length Spring Guard for use in rough environments, remote pressure gauge to monitor system pressure, remote activation valve which allows the operator to manually discharge the system, and pressure switch which can be used for alarm indication, engine or plant shut down.
Cold Fire Super Systems CTX Model uses ColdFireŽ exclusively and are available in 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 9, and 12 Liter Stainless Steel cylinders.
